Calling on all Humans of OUTniagara!
Need a break from the unrelenting bombardment of Coronavirus news? Quarantine or self-isolation starting to bore you? Binge watched everything on Netflix? Finished recounting your stash of toilet paper rolls?
OUTniagara has a suggestion! Send a submission to our popular Humans of OUTniagara feature.
If you’re a member of the sexual and gender-diverse community, or an ally, we’d love to hear your story. We’re looking for funny or sad stories, poetry, coming out stories, unconventional or surprising perspectives, or entries about experiences or encounters that may have changed your life. Your story should be no more than 300 words in length, and must be true, not fictional. Contribute more than once! For ideas, take a look at some of the fabulous stories that we’ve already published: https://www.outniagara.org/our-community/humans-of-outniagara/
Because of the sensitive nature of this feature, submissions may be made anonymously. Photos (including selfies) do not necessarily have to be of your face. A tattoo, a favourite hat, a section of your face, a shadow, your shoes, and so on —would be acceptable.
OUTniagara reserves the right to edit for spelling, grammar, punctuation, and length; we will make every effort to retain your voice. By submitting a story, you give permission to post your story on OUTniagara’s website and social media sites.
Please submit your entry to info@outniagara.ca and type “Humans of OUTniagara” in the message line. Your submission should be attached as a document, plus copied and pasted into the body of the email.
We look forward to hearing your stories, getting to know you better, and building our community. Stay safe, everyone.
