Humans of OUTniagara
As a young child growing up I was never really a social or engaged person. My parents would often try to get me involved, I tried dance… no. Sports…no. Gymnastics…kind of cool, but I only liked the trampoline.
They were very persistent, so I gave in and tried soccer. The very first game I remember all I did was stand in the field and cry, so soccer was out.
A little time had passed since that day and some friends invited me to come out and play some hockey. I was curious and that day I told my dad that I was going out with friends to play some hockey. He was happy to hear that. So out I went to play and it was fun and when I returned home I was so excited I told my dad, “I got 10! I got 10!”
My dad, with a big smile on his face, replies “That is amazing, you scored 10 goals!”
I said “No dad, I let in 10!”
