Welcome to the Niagara Trans Resource Guide! This resource guide has been made available to assist those in the Niagara who identify as transgender, non-binary, are questioning their gender identity or know of someone, including a family member or friend, who is need of support. In this guide you will find a list of agency services, support groups, social groups, resources, etc. all specific to guide and support the gender diverse community here in Niagara. If you have any services, groups, etc. to add, please reach out to us at info@outniagara.ca.

Niagara Falls Community Health Centre (NFCHC)

The Niagara Falls Community Health Centre (NFCHC) is non-profit, community governed, multi-service health centre that provides primary health care, health promotion, and community development services all under one roof at no cost. NFCHC responds to the health needs of individual patients and their families, as well as to the health concerns of the community. Queer and Trans Youth Support

Meet Celeste, one of our youth engagement workers at NFCHC. If you need support, Celeste is here for you!

Services they offer to 2SLGBTQIA+ youth:

  • Support – a safe space
  • Advocacy – assisting with difficulties
  • System navigation – ID changes, etc.
  • Family education
  • And much more!

Quest Community Health Centre (Quest CHC)

Quest Community Health Centre supports individuals experiencing social, economic and cultural barriers by providing primary healthcare services and promoting wellness, community and social justice. Addressing the gap in health and social services that are tailored to the unique needs and barriers experienced by sexually and gender diverse populations has been the primary objective of Quest’s Rainbow Niagara Services. Quest has been addressing this health equity issue since our inception in 2010.

Rainbow Niagara LGBTQ+ Services

Rainbow Niagara provides services to individuals of sexually and gender diverse communities. Information, support, and resources are provided to individuals, families, and the community.

Our LGBTQ+ services include:

  • primary health care,
  • trans specific health care,
  • support and care for gender independent children, assessment/referral,
  • and follow-up for gender confirming surgery,
  • mental health support/counseling,
  • outreach,
  • groups
  • health promotion/community capacity initiatives such as: Pride Prom, community presentations to social services, schools, and medical providers
  • support to Gay Straight Alliances, PFLAG
  • collaborating with various LGBTQ groups/coalitions such as Niagara’s Senior Pride Network.

Our interdisciplinary team focuses on the delivery of culturally competent LGBTQ+ services to individuals across their lifespan.
