Ontario’s gender identity curriculum misses the mark: OUTniagara

Just in time for the school year, the provincial government released its newly revised health and physical education school curriculum for grades 1 to 8, and some members of the LGBTQ+ community have concerns.
OutNiagara, a community organization aiming to unite Niagara’s sexual- and gender-diverse community, says the section touching on gender identity comes “too late” in a child’s education. Gender identity discussion isn’t introduced until Grade 8, a time that’s long past when many gender-nonconforming children question their identity, the group says.
